From BHP to ISGS
Inter-Phil Survey and Geotechnical Services grew out of BHP Engineering Services and General Merchandise, a firm established in 1993 that specialized in topographic, hydrographic, subdivision, relocation, and route surveys — alongside consultancy services covering project studies, engineering design, cost estimates, and environmental impact assessments.
As the industry evolved and demand grew, BHP expanded its scope through a partnership with highly experienced geotechnical engineers. The result was ISGS: a full-service firm that retains BHP’s surveying expertise while adding subsurface exploration, materials testing, and soil investigation for the design of buildings, bridges, roadworks, and industrial installations.
Today, ISGS operates across Mindanao and the Visayas, serving government agencies including DENR, DAR, and DPWH, as well as private developers, energy firms, and infrastructure proponents.

A Career Built in the Field
Engr. Pancrasia Bacus brings more than three decades of hands-on engineering leadership to every project ISGS undertakes. Her career began at the Land Management Services under DENR Region VII, where she handled map projections, survey computations, and verification of submitted survey returns — building a rigorous technical foundation that still shapes how ISGS operates today.
From 1993 onward, she led BHP Engineering Services and eventually founded ISGS, personally managing government survey contracts across DENR, DAR, and DPWH, and supervising large-scale private development projects spanning subdivisions, hydropower plants, and coastal reclamation works.
Her field experience includes senior roles at Filipinas Dravo Corporation on the Metro Iligan Regional Infrastructure and Development Project, the 11.9 MW Liangan Hydropower Plant, and multiple CEDCO Engineers feasibility projects — including the Metro Cebu Expressway (then the Cebu South Coastal-Circumferential Road), the Mandaue-Consolacion-Liloan Bypass Road, and the offshore bridge connector between Panglao Island Airport and Tagbilaran City Port.
That depth of experience — spanning government mapping, private development, energy infrastructure, and major road feasibility — is what clients across Visayas and Mindanao call on when precision matters most.
How We Got Here
Where We Work
ISGS operates across major cities and provinces throughout the Visayas and Mindanao, bringing the same rigorous standards to every engagement — whether it’s a 30-storey building in Cebu City or a windfarm in a remote municipality.
